Crispin's thesis right on time!

An individual's perceived ideals of a society, and of the beliefs of the others within the society, create the individual's perceptions of how to live within that society.

  1. Hey Crispin, could you give a brief description of your thinking behind this thesis to help it make a little more sense?

Right now this seems like mostly a statement with a huge arguement, so I'm wondering if tweak it to put more causality. Where is the bad and the good? Also I'm just confused with the first part-are you talking about the individual's ideal or society's ideals? Who creates these ideals and are they forced upon citizens? Do perceptions of how to live within a society actually influence the actions of an individuals? I think you need to be more specific...

  3. and why does it matter?... What is this really saying? That we create a way of life based on perceptions of how we should/ought to do so? So what? What's the end goal? What is this working toward? And why does it matter?

I agree with Davi that you need to be more specific. What is this society working to? What is good or bad about that project? How do we recognize the ways in which others perceive things? Is there a morality to this perception?

Not an argument as it stands.... needs causality.

  4. Where do these perceived ideas come from? Do they ever exist outside of the social? I agree with Davi that you need some causality here. Why does this happen and why does it matter? Really think through this idea.
