I'm curious as how this relates to the group. Will an individual become enlightened by rebelling with a group, or only by personally rebelling? How do you define enlightenment? Is it only an individual thing or could a group be enlightened?
To what end? Why do we want to be more personally enlightened? Your subject/verb is "individual... provides"... how do we provide ourselves with this possibility? Why does it matter that we "provide" it for ourselves? Does society provide any openings to make this happen? What? How? What does it mean to stray from expected norms? Does the "free spirit" actually become more enlightened? Does society benefit from that at all? Should society benefit from more enlightened individuals? How? What would that look like? I agree with Emma... is the "straying" a rebellion? Why or why not? What is the benefit of enlightenment? Why such focus on the individual? What about society?

I agree with the above. What is the difference between being abnormal and being enlightened? What are the markers of enlightenment?
